To get a permit — they’re free — go to this website: http://www.lonestar.edu/parking.htm and click on Create a Guest/Visitor Account. You will be asked to register your vehicle’s make, model, license plate, and your contact info, and then you can print a permit to put in your window.

These are parents-only meetings for moms and/or dads. Come talk to other parents who experience many of the same challenges, exchange ideas, talk about curriculum or classroom techniques, encourage each other, vent, etc. The meetings will be moderated.

If you're not a member of the group yet and would like to come meet us and get to know more about the group, you're welcome to attend. Learning Differences Homeschool Network of Southeast Texas is a new homeschool group for anyone homeschooling a child with any diagnosis that affects learning. It is especially aimed at very-high-functioning and high-functioning kids, what we call “quirky” kids. Our kids typically are too high functioning to fit well with special needs groups and too quirky to fit well with many neurotypical groups. We are based in the northwest Houston / Cypress area. We have more than 50 families already in the group and a broad range of diagnoses; some included diagnoses are autistic spectrum disorders, Asperger’s, PDD-NOS, ADD, ADHD, Tourette’s, anxiety disorder, dyslexia, auditory processing issues, language processing issues, allergies, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, OCD, bipolar, and hearing impairment.
